The Device Shows as Offline — FamSinyal Support
Short answer: offline means the phone has not reached our servers recently. The usual causes are no mobile data, no Wi-Fi, aeroplane mode, a flat battery or a phone that is switched off. The last reported location stays on the map with its timestamp.
What causes an offline state
- No mobile data or Wi-Fi — in a basement, a tunnel, or an area with poor coverage.
- Aeroplane mode, deliberately or accidentally enabled.
- Flat battery or a phone that has been switched off.
- A data allowance that has run out, which some plans enforce silently.
What you can still see
The last reported location remains on the map, labelled with the time it arrived. That timestamp is the useful part: it tells you when contact was lost, which is often more informative than the point itself.
The battery level from the last report is also shown. A device that went offline at 12% is a different story from one that went offline at 80%.
If you are worried: FamSinyal is not an emergency service. If a child is unreachable and you have reason to be concerned, contact your local emergency number.
Will I get the locations from while the phone was offline?
Some phones queue location points and deliver them once a connection returns; others do not. When they do arrive, each one carries its original capture time, so a delayed point is never shown as a current one.
