How FamSinyal works.
One app, installed on both phones, paired in the open with a code that works once.
Setup, from start to finish
Create the family
You sign in on your own phone and a family is created for you. Nothing is shared yet.
Install on the child's phone
The same app, with “this is my child's device” selected during setup — the role is a choice made at install time, not a hidden setting.
Pair with a one-time code
Your phone shows a code; you enter it on the child's phone. It works once and requires the phone in your hand.
Grant permissions together
Location and notification permissions are requested on the child's phone, visibly, with your child present.
What happens afterwards
The child's device reports its location periodically, along with battery level and connection status. Each report carries the time it was captured.
You see the most recent one on the map. If reports stop, the device status usually explains why — and the app tells you when a device has been offline for a while.
What stays visible to your child
- An ongoing indicator on the child's phone that location reporting is active.
- The same permission prompts any app must show — nothing is granted silently.
- The ability to see that the app is installed and what it does. There is no hidden mode.
The three things you'll see every day
Last reported location
On the map, with the time it arrived and roughly how accurate it is.
Device status
Battery level, connection, and whether location permission is still granted.
Alerts
SOS from your child, and safety checks you send when you simply want to know.
What FamSinyal never collects
This list is a design constraint, not a current limitation.
- Messages, calls and contacts — not read, not stored.
- Microphone and camera — never accessed.
- Adult-to-adult monitoring — not offered, in any configuration.
- Location history older than 30 days — deleted automatically.
Do I need my child's phone to set this up?
Yes. Pairing requires physical access to the device and a one-time code entered on it. There is no way to add a phone remotely, by link, or by phone number.
What happens if my child uninstalls the app?
The device stops reporting and you will see that it has gone offline. FamSinyal cannot prevent uninstallation, and an app that could would be a different and far more troubling kind of product.
Is the same app used on both phones?
Yes. It is one app; the parent or child role is chosen during setup.
