The Pairing Code Is Not Working — FamSinyal Support
Short answer: pairing codes work once and expire after a short time. Generate a fresh code on the parent phone and enter it on the child's phone while both are connected to the internet.
Common reasons a code is rejected
- It has already been used. Each code works exactly once — generate a new one.
- It has expired. Codes are short-lived by design; request a fresh one and enter it straight away.
- One of the phones is offline. Both devices need a connection during pairing.
- A typo — codes are easy to misread. Generate a new one rather than retrying the same characters.
Why pairing is deliberately physical
A code entered on the device, with the device in your hand, is slower than a link sent by message. That slowness is the security property: it makes secretly adding someone else's phone impractical.
It also means a family sets the app up together, in the same room — which is the conversation we want this product to start.
Can I pair without having the child's phone?
No. There is no remote pairing, no pairing by link and no pairing by phone number. This is a deliberate limit, not a missing feature.
