Feature · Reassurance
Ask, without interrupting their day.
Send a short “Are you safe?” question; your child answers with a single tap.
Short answer: a safety check sends your child a short question. They answer with one tap and you see the response, along with the location that can be shared at that moment. It is designed for the ordinary worry that does not deserve a phone call in the middle of a lesson.
Why a check instead of a call
Most parental worry is not an emergency. It is a bus that is late, a lesson that ran over, or a phone that went quiet. A phone call in that moment interrupts a classroom; a message often goes unread in a group chat.
A safety check is deliberately small: one question, one tap to answer. It respects the child's day while giving the parent a real answer.
What your child sees
- A clear notification saying who asked and what was asked.
- A single button to answer — no typing, no unlocking a conversation.
- The same visible sharing indicator that is always on; a check does not enable anything hidden.
If there is no answer
An unanswered check is information too. Combined with the device status — battery level, whether the phone is online — it usually explains itself: a flat battery, a phone in a bag on silent, or a lesson in progress.
FamSinyal does not escalate an unanswered check into an alarm. Deciding what silence means is a parent's judgement, not an algorithm's.
Can my child ignore the check?
Yes. A check is a question, not a command, and there is no penalty for not answering. We think that is the right design: an app that punishes a child for being in a lesson teaches them to resent it.
Does a check reveal anything extra?
No. It shares the same location information that is already shared with the family, at the moment of the answer. A check does not unlock any new data or enable any hidden collection.
