Feature · Family
A family, not a single administrator.
Invite a second parent so both of you receive alerts, and see exactly which devices are paired.
Short answer: a family can contain more than one parent. Both parents receive the same alerts at the same time, both can see which devices are paired, and any parent can unpair a device. There is no arrangement in which one adult monitors another.
Why two parents matter
Alerts that reach only one phone fail exactly when that phone is in a meeting. Inviting a second parent means an SOS is seen by whoever is available, not by whoever happened to install the app first.
Both parents hold the same permissions. There is no hierarchy in which one adult can see more than the other.
What family management is not
- Adults cannot monitor each other through FamSinyal. Asymmetric adult tracking is out of scope and will stay out of scope.
- There is no hidden observer role, and no way to add a device without physical access to it.
- Unpairing is always available — a device can be removed from the family at any time, from either parent's phone.
Pairing is deliberately physical
A device joins the family only through a one-time code entered on that device. This is slower than a link sent by message, and that is the point: it makes secretly adding someone's phone impractical.
The child's phone then shows an ongoing indicator that location reporting is active. Pairing is something a family does together, in the same room.
Can I add a second parent later?
Yes. A second parent can be invited at any time, and once they join they receive the same alerts and hold the same permissions as the first.
Can one parent monitor the other?
No. FamSinyal has no adult-monitoring capability. Parents manage the family together; they do not observe each other.
