Short answer: FamSinyal shows the battery level of your child's device, whether it is currently online, and whether location permission is still granted. This is what turns a worrying silence into an ordinary explanation — most missing updates are a flat battery or a revoked permission, not an emergency.
Three signals, one screen
Each of these answers a different question when the map stops moving.
- Battery level — the most common reason updates stop.
- Connection status — whether the phone can deliver what it captures.
- Location permission — whether the phone is still allowed to report at all.
Why this matters more than it sounds
Without device status, an old location is frightening. With it, the same old location is usually mundane: the battery died at 3pm, or the child updated their phone and the permission reset.
FamSinyal also warns you when the child's phone has been offline for a while, so you learn about it from the app rather than discovering it hours later.
Does FamSinyal drain the battery?
It uses battery, as any app that reports location must — we will not claim zero battery usage. The app reports periodically rather than continuously, and both Android and iOS apply their own limits on top. If battery life matters more than update frequency, the phone's own battery-saver settings will reduce how often locations arrive.
